7 June Trailer Safety Week June 7, 2020By Monica Oliver General NATM, Safety, Trailer 0 This week, June 7-13, is “Trailer Safety Week” a movement began by the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM). It is a movement to simply offer up safety tips related to trailer towing that helps promote a “safer highway one trailer at a time”. As we head in to the summer travel season which involves hauling all sorts of trailers from horse and livestock, to campers and toy haulers, right on down to a simple aluminum raft trailer, trailer safety should be right at the top of your “to do” list; right next to “remember sunscreen”.There are several factors that can contribute to safe trailer hauling and by default, unsafe trailer hauling. This week we will share some snippets by our favorite manufacturers like Big Tex, Aluma, Frontier, Circle D and BWISE who will be posting their own safety tips.We will also be posting some tips and tricks learned through “the school of hard knocks.” If you have never given trailer safety a second look, you may want to tune in this week and peruse some of the offerings on trailer safety as the life and/or precious cargo you save may very well be your own.Happy trailering this summer! Related Posts Big Tex cancels production of the venerable 50LA Tandem Axle Utility Trailer Big Tex surprised me when I picked up one of my most recent orders. I noticed it was a stack of trailers with some 60PI’s on top. While I may not pay attention to every move me or my employees make when it comes to ordering Big Tex Trailers, I knew for sure I had not ordered any 60PI’s, so being the responsible business owner that I am, I picked up the phone and called my Big Tex sales rep to alert them to “their” mistake.
