25 December Final days for Section 179 tax deductions on qualifying purchases December 25, 2018By Monica Oliver General Section 179, Tax deduction 0 Well folks, we are down to the short rows on 2018 and with it comes the end of the 100% tax deduction for Section 179 business expensing election. If you have even been thinking about a new livestock, equipment, utility or dump trailer for your ranch or construction business, it may be time to act before the deduction goes away. We know already that the democrats are about to take over the house and I am confident that in their infinite wisdom they will manage to come up with some very creative ways to help you spend more of your hard-earned money for the benefit of others who maybe don’t choose to work as hard as you. You might as well take this opportunity to use some of that hard-earned money to acquire what YOU are wanting or needing before the powers that be decide on another use for it. Remember - this tax deduction ends December 31 and we will stay open right up until the end just in case you have a last-minute thought to save money on both a trailer and your taxes! Big Tex cancels production of the venerable 50LA Tandem Axle Utility Trailer Big Tex surprised me when I picked up one of my most recent orders. I noticed it was a stack of trailers with some 60PI’s on top. While I may not pay attention to every move me or my employees make when it comes to ordering Big Tex Trailers, I knew for sure I had not ordered any 60PI’s, so being the responsible business owner that I am, I picked up the phone and called my Big Tex sales rep to alert them to “their” mistake.
